Welcome!

Updated: Apr 11, 2022

My name is Emi or Miss Emilia, as my students call me. I want to create a space where there are multiple pathways to enter dance. Some individuals seek to dance for healing purposes others seek to dance as a professional endeavor for a future career. In the years that I have taught dance, I have taught many audiences; students preparing for an exam, preprofessional young adults, young adults with disabilities, and beginners of all ages. Having taught a wide variety of students, I know what it takes to engage a three-year-old for 45 minutes or how to challenge an expert. I seek to be the support system that is needed.

Growing up, dance was always a part of my identity. That identity continued through college and grad school. There is something about dance that cannot be explained. It is a way to connect with others without having to speak and a way to express emotions that words cannot be placed on. As a quieter person, dance was always my safe space because it meant I could communicate in a deeper way. This led to lifelong friendships and skills. Through dance, we can learn about ourselves and our peers. We can learn how to take critique, present ourselves with confidence, manage time, ask questions, and so much more.

As the founder, I want to create a business that will welcome everyone who enters.

As a teacher, I want to spark joy and excitement surrounding movement practice.

As a dancer, I want to take up space by moving in angular expansive pathways.

As an artist, I want to create work that connects and builds to take flight.

As a person, I want to challenge myself physically and mentally to find my inner peace.
